Wattle Around the Garden

Wattle is an ancient construction consisting of supple branches woven through upright stakes. It’s used in fencing and building construction for centuries. We saw this great fence and children’s hideout at Heritage Farm last summer. Right then and there I decided when we move to the country access to a woodlot or wetland with abundant willow brush was another feature to consider. Wattle uses lots of material, but it’s very simple to construct and extremely flexible in application.
